Writing in this week's (September 27th) Bromsgrove Standard, Bradley said:
“I'm continuing my laser like focus on delivering on the promises I've made to you and I have a plan to achieve this.
Part of my plan includes improving road safety across Bromsgrove and the Villages. That’s why I brought together key stakeholders to discuss how we can tackle speeding on the A441 in Bordesley after I was contacted by residents about this issue.
I now hope residents are listened to and we see action taken to improve road safety along this route – and I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure this happens.
Another key part of my plan is improving health and mental services across our constituency.
As your MP, I’m working to deliver more out of hours GP appointments to support our young and elderly populations; increase mental health provision and investment to train and retain medical professionals.
I recently discussed all of this with Simon Trickett, Chief Executive of NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and I look forward to continuing to work with him to improve the services that we all rely on.
I was also elected with a mandate to fight Labour’s decision to impose VAT on independent school fees.
There are three independent schools in Bromsgrove and the Villages, including Bromsgrove School which employs more than 600 local people.
I’ve already been made aware of parents who have had to pull their children out of independent schools in Bromsgrove because of the Government’s decision to impose VAT on fees. These children will now have to find places in state schools, increasing class sizes which this Government doesn’t seem to care about it, nor do they seem to have a plan to address the ramifications of their policy.
To put pressure on the Government to reverse their decision, I’ve secured a parliamentary debate where I will be raising the concerns of local parents. By holding a debate, a Government Minister will be forced to respond and to justify their decision to impose these fees and level down education for all children.
From improving road safety and health services to fighting Labour’s disastrous independent schools fees policy, I’m working hard to deliver real results.”
