Hundreds of retirees attended Bradley’s first ever Pensioners’ Fair.
More than 40 exhibitors provided free information and advice to hundreds of retirees last Friday (November 15th) at the Fair which was sponsored by Right at Home, The Gables Care Home, Excool and Wiltshire Farm Foods.
The pop-up café also proved a hit as retirees enjoyed free tea, coffee and cake on a particularly cold day.
A choir from Lickey End First School and a student from Bromsgrove School entertained those in attendance with a medley of songs.
Bradley said:
“I want to thank the more than 40 exhibitors who provided free information and support to hundreds of retirees who attended my first ever Pensioners’ Fair. It was a huge success.
“I also want to thank the sponsors whose support ensured the Fair was a success and enabled us to provide free tea, coffee and cake at the pop-up café.
“I was particularly keen to hold this event as the colder months set in after the Government cruelly removed Winter Fuel Payments from thousands of pensioners in Bromsgrove and the Villages. Age UK and the Department for Work and Pensions were on hand at the Fair to promote Pension Credit which, if eligible, would mean some pensioners can continue to receive Winter Fuel Payments.
“Although this year’s Fair is now over, that doesn’t mean my work to support pensioners has stopped. I will be continuing to ensure eligible pensioners are signed up to Pension Credit and that all retirees can live in dignity.”
