“I need your support” Bradley has said as he launches a petition as part of his campaign for a Bromsgrove Banking Hub.
The local MP is launching his petition in the wake of last week’s announcement that the Lloyds’ Bromsgrove branch will close on May 7th 2025 and Halifax’s Bromsgrove branch will follow suit just a few weeks later on May 29th.
With a further two high street bank branches closing, it means Bromsgrove High Street has lost four branches in just three years following the closure of Barclays in 2022 and Natwest in 2023.
To ensure residents can continue to easily access face-to-face banking and cash withdrawal services, Bradley is campaigning for a permanent Banking Hub to be set-up in Bromsgrove.
A Banking Hub brings Post Office cash services and Community Bankers together in one place, ensuring people can still bank face-to-face and access cash services too.
As part of his campaign, Bradley has launched a petition and is urging residents to sign it to show their support for a Bromsgrove Banking Hub.
Bradley said:
“With the impending closures of Lloyds and Halifax, this will mean our High Street has lost four banks in just three years. If we’re not careful Bromsgrove could become a banking desert and I’m not going to allow that to happen. That’s why Bromsgrove needs a Banking Hub.
“The Post Office and Cash Access are planning to open more Banking Hubs, and I’ll be making the strong case to them that they should be opening one in Bromsgrove.
“But I need your support to help make a Bromsgrove Banking Hub a reality. Please sign my petition so we can show the decision makers that the people of Bromsgrove and the Villages want a Banking Hub.
“Let’s make this happen!”
